Create bootable USB Windows 10 with Rufus

Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pen drives, memory sticks, etc.

It can be especially useful for cases where:
– You need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.)
– You need to work on a system that doesn’t have an OS installed
– You need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS you want to run a low-level utility
– You want to run a low-level utility

To create a Windows 10 installer with Rufus, connect a USB flash drive of at least 8GB of space, and then use these steps bellow:

[1] Open Rufus download page
[2] Under the “Download” section, click on the latest release of Rufus to download the file to your device

[3] Double-click the Rufus-3.12.exe file to launch the tool
[4] Click the Yes button if you want the app to check updates
[5] Under the “Device” section, select the USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space
[6] Under the “Boot selection” section, click SELECT then browse to Windows 10 Installation ISO file

[7] Use the “Partition scheme” drop-down menu to select the GPT option
[8] Use the “Target system” drop-down menu to select the UEFI (non CSM) option
Quick note: If the computer includes a legacy BIOS, select the MBR option for partition scheme and BIOS (or UEFI-CSM) option target system

[9] Under the “Show Advanced drive properties” section, leave the default settings
[10] Under the “Volume label” field, enter a descriptive name for the drive — for example: “Win10Pro64_Install”
[11] Under the “File system” and “Cluster size” section, leave the default settings
[12] Click the Show advanced format options button
[13] Select the “Quick format” and “Create extended label and icon files” options
[14] Click the Start button
[15] Click the OK button to confirm then wait to complete
[16] Click the Close button
After you complete the steps, you will have a bootable USB for install Windows 10.
